Biography

Quang Ngoc NGUYEN received the B.Eng. Degree in Information Technology, Honor Computer Science Program conducted in English from Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), Hanoi, Vietnam in 2012, and became one of the youngest Faculty members of the Institute. He received the M.Sc. degree and Ph.D. degree from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan in 2015 and 2019, respectively. Currently, he is an Asst. Professor with Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University, where he was a Research Associate from 2018 to 2019. He has hosted and participated in many research projects, including the collaborative EU-Japan research projects funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 Programme (e.g., the Green ICN and 5G! Pagoda projects), and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication (MIC) of Japan. His research has also been funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan, Waseda University, and Fujitsu Ltd. and Fujitsu Lab. His research interests include Network design, Green Networking, Future Internet, wireless communication systems, beyond 5G (B5G)/6G, Internet of Things (IoT), sensor network, data science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Applied Intelligence, Internet of Vehicles (IoV), combinatorial optimization/multi-objective optimization (MOO), network slicing, Information System, game theory, and technology standardization. He was the sole Awardee of Asia Special Scholarship for Fall 2013 admission to the Graduate School of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies (GITS), Waseda University. He was also a recipient of the young author award conferred by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for young firstauthor of highly potential research under 30 years old, and actively contributed to many ITU-T standardization activities related to Information-Centric Networking (ICN) and Future Internet architecture. Besides, Dr. Nguyen had experience with editorial and conference organizations. He served as an Organizing Committee Member (OCM) of International Conference on Computer Science and Software Engineering 2020, 3rd International Conference on Computer Science & Cloud Computing 2020, and Asia Pacific Society for Computing and Information Technology (APSCIT) Annual Meeting 2019, as well as a Session Chair at IEEE ICCC 2017. He was also a Guest Editor and Keynote Speaker at the 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Manufacturing (AIAM 2020), Shanghai, China. In addition, he is the sole Editor of a book entitled “Congestion Control: Design, Applications, and Protocols”, ISBN: 978-1-53619-149-3/eBook ISBN: 978-1-53619-282-7, Nova Science Publishers, March 2021 (Book Citation Index – Web of Science, Amazon). Dr. Quang Nguyen is a Topic Editor of Electronics, Switzerland (Impact Factor 2.412) and a Series Editor of Atlantis Highlights in Engineering, and Advances in Engineering Research (Web of Science). Also, he has been a reviewer of top journals in the field of Communications and Computer Engineering as well as Computer Science, e.g., IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications JSAC, IEEE IoT Journal, Computer Science Review, IEEE Access, Sensors (Basel, Switzerland) and IEEE Communications Standards Magazine. He is an IEEE member and a Senior Member of the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI).
